Camping On Vancouver Island

If you’re looking for a camping destination that offers you stunning sights, beautiful wildlife viewing, and incredible camping, then check out Vancouver Island. This is the largest island on the west coast of North America. Measuring 290 miles end to end and 52 miles at its widest point. Overall it covers over 12k square miles.

Camping on Vancouver Island requires some planning. Because it is such a popular destination many of the campsites require reservations. With that in mind, consider the type of camping experience you want. If you want a site with modern hookups and amenities, then make sure you reserve well in advance. And if you’re planning a trip in the summer months you’re going to want to reserve at least 3 months ahead of when you plan to take your trip (although some suggest even earlier).

When you’re packing for your trip to Vancouver Island you’ll want to make sure you have clothing that makes hiking through primitive woods comfortable. Bring long pants and long sleeved shirts, as well as insect and tick repellant.
